This prestigious recognition, awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia, signifies the remarkable commitment to excellence in sustainable design and construction.
What is Green Star?
Green Star is an internationally recognised sustainability rating system that evaluates a building’s environmental performance across categories such as energy efficiency, water use, and indoor quality. Achieving a 6-Star Green Star Design & As Built rating means we’ve reached ‘World Leadership’ in sustainable design and construction, setting an example for the industry to follow.
Key Achievements with the Project
Located on Anzac Parade and Todman Avenue in the bustling heart of the University precinct of Kensington. This latest development for client Scape Australia sets the benchmark for quality in student accommodation.
The project comprised the design and construction of a 20-storey mixed-use student accommodation building with retail and commercial tenancies. The building includes 365 beds, consisting of studios and two-dios, a communal lounge, dining, games and study areas, a BBQ area, retail spaces, and a substantial basement.
The retail precinct will greatly improve amenities in this part of Kensington, in line with the Council’s revitalisation of the neighbourhood.
The project achieved a 6 Star Green Star Design & As-Built v1.3 Rating, incorporating several environmentally sustainable design and construction initiatives.
