The building required the integration of large-scale concrete and steel construction with controlled environmental systems, secure storage areas and specialist conservation spaces.

Projects of this nature demand close coordination between architectural detailing, structural design, mechanical performance, fire protection and operational security. The building must function as a complete system, because the failure of one component can affect the assets stored within it.

Purpose-Built Operational Facilities

Early Contractor Involvement

Industrial projects benefit from contractor input before the design is complete. Through our Early Contractor Involvement process, Infinity can assist during feasibility, concept design and design development. This allows construction methodology, programme, procurement and cost to be considered while there is still an opportunity to influence the design.

The process may include buildability reviews, preliminary cost planning, trade-market testing, logistics planning, long-lead procurement and the identification of design or delivery risks.

For example, the selected structural grid can affect racking layouts, steel tonnage, slab joints, sprinkler coverage and roof drainage. The location of substations, fire tanks and loading areas can also have significant implications for site access and programme.

Identifying these interfaces early reduces the risk of redesign, late procurement and avoidable variations.

Kingsgrove Connect – Multi-Tenancy Industrial Development

Project Summary:

Infinity Constructions delivered Kingsgrove Connect, a major multi-tenancy industrial and commercial development at 2 The Crescent, Kingsgrove.

Engaged as Head Contractor under a Cost Plus contract for the Haralambis Group, Infinity worked with WNK Architecture to deliver the approximately $36 million project. The development combines adaptable warehouse accommodation, mezzanine offices, dedicated storage units, secure access, parking and shared external infrastructure.

Its location near the M5 and M8 motorways provides strong connectivity to Sydney Airport, Port Botany and wider metropolitan distribution networks.

Technical Expertise and Innovation:

Kingsgrove Connect required the coordinated delivery of civil, structural, architectural and building-services packages across a constrained metropolitan site.

Tilt-up concrete panels formed a major part of the construction methodology. Their delivery required detailed planning of panel casting, lifting inserts, temporary bracing, crane positioning, erection sequencing and permanent structural connections. The programme also involved the coordination of warehouse floor slabs, structural steelwork, roofing, tenancy divisions, façade systems, fire separation, in-ground services, drainage, pavements and external works.

Because the development contained multiple warehouse and storage tenancies, fire engineering was a critical component of the design. Infinity coordinated compartmentation, fire-resistance levels, egress, services penetrations and fire-safety systems with the structural and architectural layouts. Construction sequencing was planned so that civil works, structural erection, façade installation and external infrastructure could progress without restricting access to other areas of the development. Kingsgrove Connect demonstrates Infinity’s capacity to deliver large multi-unit industrial developments in which warehouse functionality, commercial accommodation, shared infrastructure, and staged construction must be managed through a single integrated programme.
